A lot of the new technology these days such as a mobile phone come with a built in camera which also allows you to record things as well. Also you can now download an app on an iPhone which allows you to edit the footage on your phone. You can also upload the footage straight from your phone onto youtube and you can also create a TV series through uploading to youtube. You can get some mobile phone cameras that are HD, so with this kind of technology at such easy access then soon there will be a lot of people creating their own TV programmes and uploading them to the internet then there will be no need for all the big expensive professional cameras that are used in the media industry.
Pretty much all of the videos on YouTube are of a bad quality as they are all shot through very small cameras, whereas the programmes on TV are all of a very high resolution. Also a lot of the videos are of recordings of programmes that are already on TV and that havnt been released yet which then gives you the copyright issues. Because you can now edit the footage you have shot on you mobile the quality of the editing and final product wouldn't be as good as when you shoot, and edit with professional, high tech equiptment. You can now buy hand held video cameras for more amateur filming, you can get them in HD which enables you to record whenever and wherever you want in good quality as they are small enough to be able to fit into a back pack, and to take it with you. You can again upload these to the innternet but you will have to plug it into the computer and edit it through the computer on there. With the new iPhone 4 you can buy the editing software that people use on the Apple Macs for a lot cheaper. However which this you still cant get the same quality or the same smoothness when you edit this way. You can also buy hand held photography cameras which can be very small, small enough to fit into a persons handbag with these cameras you can still get some good quality pictures, good zoom and at a good price. You can also buy some more high tech/ more professional cameras which will let you get very good photos and a better zoom. With cameras you still have to connect them to the computer and edit them on Photoshop.
I think that all of these different ways to edit now are ruining the quality of the final product as they are not done on a computer with the correct software, instead they are done quickly and therefore the final product doesnt run as smoothly and doesnt look as professional and overall doesnt look very good.
